The Imperial State Crown is the one the British monarch actually wears out of Westminster Abbey coronation exit, State Opening of Parliament. The present crown was made in 1937 for George VI, set with 2,868 diamonds, 17 sapphires, 11 emeralds and 269 pearls, including the Black Prince’s Ruby and the Cullinan II. It lives in the Tower of London with the rest of the Crown Jewels; it is not insured like a painting, because there is nothing to replace it with. Source ↗
